Author Guidelines

A. General Requirements

  1. Manuscripts submitted to Kajian Hukum must be original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration for publication in any other journal.
  2. Manuscripts may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.
  3. The manuscript should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) on A4 paper maximum file size 1 MB.
  4. Use Arial, 12 pt font, 1.5 line spacing, with 2 cm margins on all sides.
  5. The manuscript should consist of 6,000–8,000 words, including the abstract, tables, figures, acknowledgements, and references.
  6. Every manuscript will undergo an initial editorial screening, plagiarism screening, and a double-blind peer review process.
  7. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript has been proofread and follows proper academic writing standards.
  8. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal template and author guidelines may be returned before the review process.

B. Manuscript Structure

1. Title

  • Concise, informative, and reflects the content of the manuscript.
  • Maximum 15 words.
  • Written in Arial 16 pt, bold, justify.

2. Author Information

  • Full name(s) of the author(s) (without academic titles)
  • Affiliation(s)
  • ORCID ID (optional)
  • Corresponding author's email address

3. Abstract

  • Written in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Maximum 250 words.
  • Written in one paragraph.
  • Should briefly describe:
    • Background
    • Research objective
    • Research method
    • Main findings
    • Conclusion

4. Keywords

  • Consist of 3–5 keywords.
  • Written alphabetically and separated by semicolons.

5. Introduction

  • Background of the study
  • Research gap
  • Previous relevant studies
  • Research objectives
  • Novelty and contribution of the study

6. Research Method

  • Type of legal research (normative, empirical, or socio-legal)
  • Research approach
  • Sources of legal materials or research data
  • Data collection techniques
  • Data analysis method

7. Results and Discussion

  • Present research findings systematically.
  • Analyze findings critically using relevant legal theories and regulations.
  • Compare findings with previous studies.
  • Demonstrate the originality and contribution of the research.

Subheadings may be used according to the research objectives or research questions.

8. Conclusion

  • Answer the research objectives.
  • Highlight the main findings.
  • Provide recommendations or implications for legal development, policy, or future research.

9. Acknowledgements (Optional)

Authors may acknowledge individuals or institutions that contributed to the research or provided financial support.

10. References

References should contain only works cited in the manuscript and must be arranged alphabetically.

C. Citation and References

  1. Manuscripts must use APA Style 7th Edition (Full Note).
  2. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
  3. At least 20 references should be included.
  4. A minimum of 80% or 12 of the references should be journal articles published within the last five years.
  5. References should primarily come from reputable national and international journals.
  6. The use of unofficial websites, blogs, Wikipedia, or other non-academic sources should be avoided.
